HMK Cross-Flow Open Cooling TowerCross-Flow Open Circuit
A cross-flow open cooling tower series using a mature cross-flow heat exchange structure, with stable and reliable operation.
The HMK cross-flow open series is one of the most mature cooling tower lines of LANXUN. It uses a classic cross-flow heat exchange structure — air passes horizontally through the fill to fully contact the water film for heat exchange. The series is flexibly configurable, covering a wide cooling-water flow range of 125–1200m³/h, suitable for commercial buildings, light industry, and data centers. The cross-flow structure allows convenient maintenance, enabling inspection of the water distribution system and fill without shutdown, greatly reducing operating costs. The HMK series includes 30 standard HMK-N-P models and is the backbone of LANXUN commercial cooling towers.
Key Highlights
Cross-Flow Structure, Easy Maintenance
The fill and water distribution system can be accessed from the side, allowing maintenance without shutdown and reducing operational downtime.
Flexible Configuration (125–1200m³/h)
30 standard models cover everything from small commercial to large industrial applications, supporting multi-tower parallel expansion for greater capacity.
Mature and Reliable
Nearly 30 years of market validation, with No.1 nationwide commercial cooling tower sales for four consecutive years and reliable quality.
Modular Installation
Factory pre-assembled before delivery; on-site hoisting into position is all that is needed, with a short installation period and minimal disturbance to surroundings.
Working Principle and Structural Features
The following content is excerpted from the HMK Cross-Flow Open Cooling Tower product manual
Working Principle
The LANXUN square cross-flow cooling tower features high thermal performance, a compact structure, good stability, and easy fill replacement. The main tower body is composed of hardware, modified PVC fill, and FRP resin parts, and is widely used in air-conditioning and industrial cooling water systems.
A cooling tower works by evaporating part of the heat to cool the water, so makeup water must be supplied during operation. The makeup water volume M≈evaporation loss E, E=Δt×Q/600 (tons/hour), where Δt is the temperature difference between inlet and outlet water (℃) and 600 is the latent heat of vaporization of water (Kcal/h).
This series uses the latest technology with an integrated drift eliminator and inclined fill, bringing the tower's drift loss down to a level of 0.001 that is generally negligible. Circulating water is allowed a pH of 6.5~8.0 and a turbidity of less than 50mg/L, and must contain no oil or grease.
Modified PVC Inclined Fill
The fill is made of modified PVC with an integrated drift eliminator and a certain flame retardancy; its oxygen index is 33.3%, and it stops burning once removed from an open flame. Hanging installation makes cleaning and replacement easy.
Gravity Water Distribution System
Hot water enters the distribution basin and is evenly sprinkled onto the fill through nozzles; during maintenance, debris and algae in the basin can be cleaned directly, keeping the distribution holes clear and the water distribution even.
Belt Reduction Drive
The tower-top fan is driven by the motor through a belt reducer; the fan blade angle is adjustable and belt tension can be adjusted via the motor adjusting screws, making maintenance simple.
Maintenance Safety Facilities
Ladders lead to the tower-top platform and the fill; an outward-opening access door is provided on the fan stack, and a maintenance platform, walkway, and safety guardrail are provided inside the tower, all made of corrosion-resistant material.
Winter Anti-Freeze Operation
An optional two-speed motor consumes only 15% of full-speed power at low speed under low winter loads; other freeze-protection measures such as timed fan reversal for de-icing, inlet bypass, and basin electric heating can also be used.
